Why Your Baby’s Safety is My Top Priority

Welcoming your precious newborn into the world is an unforgettable moment, and trusting someone to capture those first days of life is a big decision. As a mom myself, I understand how deeply you want your baby to be safe and nurtured in every environment they enter—especially during something as personal as a photoshoot. That’s why I’ve dedicated myself to ensuring the safest, most comfortable experience possible for both you and your baby.

I’m proud to share that I am certified as a safe and qualified newborn photographer through the Accredited Professional Newborn Photographers International (APNPI). This certification demonstrates my extensive training and commitment to adhering to the highest safety standards in newborn photography. From start to finish, every moment in my studio is designed with your baby’s well-being in mind.

Professional Training: What It Means for You & Your Baby

My training includes comprehensive knowledge of essential newborn safety practices:

Umbilical Cord and Circumcision Care: I am careful to avoid pressure on sensitive areas like healing umbilical cords or circumcision sites, ensuring your baby remains comfortable throughout the session.

Understanding Newborn Reflexes: Newborns have delicate reflexes that need to be handled with care. I know how to work with their natural movements and reactions to keep them comfortable and at ease.

Preventing Positional Asphyxiation: Certain poses can compromise a newborn’s airway if done incorrectly. I avoid all banned or risky poses and ensure that every position prioritizes open airways and gentle support for their tiny bodies.

Avoiding Overheating: My studio is kept at a warm, cozy temperature for your baby’s comfort, but I am vigilant to ensure it never gets too warm. Proper ventilation, breaks, and careful monitoring ensure your baby stays content and safe.

Recognizing Hunger or Dehydration: Babies are unpredictable, and their needs can change quickly. I stay attuned to signs that your baby may need to eat or rest, allowing plenty of time for feedings or soothing breaks.

Safe Wrapping Techniques: Wrapping is a hallmark of newborn photography, and I’ve been trained in techniques that keep your baby snug without restricting circulation or movement.

Prop Safety: Every prop I use has been thoroughly tested for weight capacity and inspected to ensure it is free of hazards like splinters, sharp edges, nails, rust, or harmful paint fumes.

Care for Moms: You Matter, Too

As much as I focus on your baby’s safety, I am equally committed to ensuring you feel cared for during our time together. Whether you’re recovering from a c-section, feeling fatigued from sleepless nights, or simply in need of a calm and supportive environment, I am here for you. I stay alert for signs of dehydration or potential emergencies, such as excessive bleeding or fainting, and will always prioritize your comfort and well-being.

Fully Immunized for Peace of Mind

To provide an extra layer of protection for your family, I maintain all necessary immunizations, including those recommended for newborn safety, such as Tdap and flu vaccines. Your baby’s health is non-negotiable, and I take every precaution to ensure a secure environment.

A Studio Built for Comfort and Trust

When you step into my studio, I want you to feel immediately at ease.
